Firefly: 10 Year Anniversary and Press Junket!

It feels just like yesterday when I sat down and watched the pilot episode of FIREFLY.  I was immediately hooked by the storyline, characters, actors, and of course, Serenity.  And even though there were thousands of us tuned in religiously to see where Captain Malcolm Reynolds would take his crew, Fox didn’t agree and pulled the plug on the short-lived show.nnBut all was not lost.  Joss Whedon does not give up on his babies very easily.  In 2005, fans of FIREFLY were given an opportunity to see more of what we loved so much when Joss released SERENITY.  It received positive reviews, but didn’t make back its budget until it was released on DVD.nnFast forward 7 years.  It’s Comic Con 2012 and they announced they were having a 10-year anniversary panel with the cast of FIREFLY!!!  I was NOT going to miss that, so I got up at God knows what hour and waited in line.  It was great to see fans dressed up and talking about their favorite scenes.nnFinally, after hours upon hours of waiting, we were finally let into Hall H.  And then, after hours upon hours of panels, we finally got what we were waiting for.  One by one the cast and writers came out and the crowd went wild!!!!  It was filled with humor and tears and we LOVED every minute of it.  I especially loved Joss Whedon’s speech at the end.  And since reading it will NOT do it justice, I posted the link below.nnI was lucky enough to get some awesome pictures of the panel AND to go to the press junket! There, I was able to sit so close to the cast that I could almost touch them!!!  The cast answered many questions and were gracious the entire time.  This is why us fans were so sad when the show was cancelled.  Joss, Nathan, and the rest of the cast prove time and time again how much the fans mean to them.  There was a lot of laughter and some tears, but an amazing interview none-the-less.nnPlease enjoy some of the photos I was able to get.  I know this is a year old, but seriously, who cares!  IT’S FIREFLY!!!nnCheers!nnThe Fatal Sirennn
