TORCHWOOD- MIRACLE DAYnnComic Con 2011nnOne of the panels that made me giddy with joy to see was Torchwood- Miracle Day. If you haven’t seen it, here is a brief synopsis.nnTorchwood is a spin-off from Doctor Who (If you don’t know who the Doctor is, stay tuned for future blogs) that follows Captain Jack Harkness, the leader of a group that protects the human race against alien threats. Jack Harkness is played by John Barrowman. If you don’t know who he is, this is him:nn20130703-184204.jpgnnJohn Barrowman @ Comic ConnnIsn’t he dreamy?nnOkay, back to the story. In a nutshell, suddenly no one dies. And when I mean no one dies, I me no one. People are shot, having heart attacks… you name it, it happened. No matter how hard people tried, they just wouldn’t die. Thus calling the the day it all began, Miracle Day.nnNow this is obviously not a good thing since there is a huge rise in population. More people means more mouths to feed, which quickly starts to deplete resources. This leads to the government implementing controversial legislation.nnAssisting Jack in the investigation as always is Gwen Cooper, played by Eve Myles.nn20130703-184339.jpgnEve Myles @ Comic ConnnAdditional main cast members are Mekhi Phifer (8 Mile; Dawn of the Dead), Alexa Havins (Hancock; When in Rome), and Bill Pullman (Independence Day; A League of Their Own).nn20130703-184632.jpgnMekhi Phifer, John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Alexa Havins, Jane Epsensen, and Bill PullmannnMiracle Day was filled with action, suspense, and a few twists. There were also some parts that I found unnecessary and down right weird. But all in all, I recommend watching it. That is, after you have watched the series from the beginning. You really need to know who Jack is and how his relationship with Gwen began. You will also see some familiar faces pop-up from Doctor Who.nnI look forward to hearing what you think about it.nnCheers!nnIzolannPS- I didn’t record it, but thought I would share a photo of how hilarious John Barrowman is.nn20130703-184715.jpg
