Recently, Chad and Jaime went to the Ronald McDonald House for their volunteer appreciation luncheon. Chad shared a his moments and I wanted to share them with you. Please enjoy~nnnnTo our wonderful volunteers and donors,nnToday Jaime and I visited the Ronald McDonald House for the volunteer appreciation luncheon, when we got there I got to take a look at the amazing and generous donation that IDW sent in for our characters and heroes to hand out at the Holiday Party as well as future events. They sent hundreds of comics for the kids ranging from My Little Pony to Popeye the Sailor Man. Some of them have already made it into the hands of dozens of needy children the other day at a Boys and Girls Club event.nnDuring the lunch we all got to share what brought us to the house and how long we have been volunteering and our heroes are always a hit with everyone during discussions. It wasn’t until a little later that the Executive Director of the house Noel told all of us a story. A story of a little boy who recently lost the medical battles he was facing, and at his memorial they had super heroes there. It was shared with Noel that this boy had interacted with some of you over the past couple of years during the holiday party. Even though he was wheelchair bound and breathing through a trach tube, he relayed to his parents that the heroes gave him strength and spending time with each of you was a very important part of his life.nnNoel at this point told me “I never made the connection before. I knew the children loved the superheroes visiting them at our events, but hearing that helped me understand that what you guys are doing for the children is much more than that.”nI was almost a sobbing mess by that point but knew I had to share this with each of you, every ounce of help each of you has given to bring a smile to a child’s face with us is noticed and is so much more important than we can possible comprehend. What you have done and continue to do for these children has real and lasting impact.nnFrom the bottom of our hearts thank you so much for everything you have done to support us and The Ronald McDonald House.nnTo donate, volunteer, or learn more about the Ronald McDonald House, visit http://www.rmhc.org/ and find a chapter near you.nnWishing you peace, love, and happiness. Cheers!nnRavennn
