Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro turned the Legends Ballroom at the Hard Rock Hotel into a Magic: The Gathering x Spider-Man NYC–themed experience, running Thursday, July 24 through Sunday, July 27 for fans who snagged an RSVP. I was so lucky to have gotten a spot to check this out.
This was definitely a well thought out crossover that a lot enjoyed. I honestly didn’t hear many that were disappointed with it and that is saying a lot for die hard fans. They tend to be very protective of their hobbies.
The experience featured six activations you could explore in any order, including the Friendly Neighborhood Game Store, Daily Bugle Newsstand, Divine Doughworks, and more. When you entered, you were given a random Welcome Deck and could either wait to demo the game or check out the other areas. I didn’t not play, but a couple of my friends did and had a blast.
The best part for the opening was that Daryl McDaniels, a.k.a D.M.C from Run DMC performed. Give the video below a watch and enjoy!
